Founded in 1983, the Victoria Barracks Historical Society, Brisbane, Inc., is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to Queensland’s military history and its preservation and promotion for the benefit of members, affiliate societies as well as the broader community. As overseer of the Queensland Military Memorial Museum; ‘A’ Battery - Queensland’s Permanent Artillery; and the Legion Memorial Club, the Victoria Barracks Historical Society, Brisbane, Inc., presents a dynamic schedual of events, presentations, exhibitions and displays in and around Brisbane; a variety of online and offline publications and the maintenance of a military science library and archive. The Victoria Barracks Historical Society welcomes visitors to its bookstore and museum with membership from interested person(s) and organisations as a show of support in the community always welcomed.

AIM | CONSERVATION
To collect, preserve, restore and display all manner of historical material relating to military and auxiliary forces which have served, or are serving in Queensland, and the Australian Defence Forces.
AIM | RESEARCH
To encourage research into Queensland and Australian military history; to publish subjects of interest to members; and to provide a source of reference and historical records to researchers.
AIM | MUSEUM
To conduct and maintain a military heritage museum, on one or more sites, to be known as the Queensland Military Memorial Museum.

Part military history and information resource and part museum, we have an extensive collection of books, objects and rotating exhibits covering many eras and branches of the military to view out of interest or research. The generosity of members helps the Queensland Military Memorial Museum, Library & Archive collect, preserve, and share Queensland and Australia's stories.

We offer a wide range of categories — from a club membership to the Legion Bar, our premier event facility, to individual and corporate memberships. Individual and corporate member levels include free admission to the Queensland Military Memorial Museum and access by appointment to the Queensland Military Memorial Library and Archive. Premium online content such as e-books, videos and podcasts are also available through each areas's respective websites.
